Claudette Marie Scott Neal 82, was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 16, 1941 to the late Carnell and Lorene Scott. "Marie" as she was commonly called, graduated with the Dunbar High School Class of 1958. Marie united with her late husband Essex Neal.
She was an active member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church of Granite Mountain until her health began to fail.
Mrs. Neal loved spending time with her family, friends, and her church. Fishing, watching soap operas, cooking, working in her garden, doing puzzles while listening to her favorite gospel and blues music were her favorite pastime hobbies.
For many years she worked for Curry Cleaners that was located on 24th and High Street (now Dr. MLK Drive). She was a great sister, mother and housewife.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents; Will Smith and Almeda Sanders, parents, and siblings;
William Kenneth Scott, Joe Vern Scott, Darnell Scott, and Donnell Scott.
Those left to remember her love, laughter, and legacy are her children; Robert Moseley (Tina) Neal, Gregory L. Neal, Jeffrey E. (Rose) Neal, Anthony D. (Nicole) Neal, Stephanie Neal (Billy) Jefferson, and Donna (Robert) Scott. Siblings; Joyce Ann Laster and Carolyn Sue Bradford all of Little Rock along with a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be on Friday April 12th, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the funeral home's O.T. Smith and Sons Memorial Chapel. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 13th, at Bullock Temple C.M.E. Church 1518 South Park Street in Little Rock. Kelly Smith Funeral & Cremation Services (8424 Kanis Road, 501-612-5607) will be serving the Neal families.
